The greatest summit of innovationists, technologists, revolutionary technical ideas happening every year, officially known as Consumer Electronics Show (CES), is getting even bigger and futuristic in terms what it generally perceived as an annual trade show. This cannot go without mentioning CTA’s (Consumer Technology Association) important role in organizing this annual trade event. It all started in 1969, at “The Big Apple” (NYC, New York) itself. Staged and received with a warm welcome, CES is going great every year showcasing some of the best consumer electronics which consumers can either look forward to or aspire in near future.

CES 2019 included, reviving the old record player into one of the most amazing combination of the old and new technology, showcasing the most advanced PC components, monitors which really would look like parts of alien spacecrafts, Digital wearables camouflaging consumers into believing them it to traditional wrist watches, laptops, IoT devices, and much more. Yet, the biggest highlights CES 2019, could be comfortably concluded with the mutually agreed notion, is the vision of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality inhabitable future amidst potential consumers. Although shortened to just the word AR/VR, it is getting limitless and even with some out of boxes ideas the years of hard work behind virtual reality products seems, are getting justified. Well, that’s what this year CES 2019 says loud about.

Products that made a real impact

Undoubtedly this 2019, virtual and extended realities  have made such appearances, that would make hard for XR based companies to keep a low profiles all coming years, but talking about products that really have won consumer’s heart are:

  1. Oculus Quest: With an updated VR product, in respect to other product with wired PC connections. Quest is wireless and can be operated while both in standing and sitting positions. Making gaming consumers absolutely crazy with this new ‘no-strings attached’ mode, it is till now running for a huge demand at the moment.
  2. NordicTrack Bike: This is no ordinary bike, and if we are discussing it, you can only imagine. But yes, this is an exercise machine, not a bike for roads. With features of virtual reality headset and software which enables you to play games, which would get synced with the peddle movement. This is yet to hit in market, until Summers. But it looks, this NordicTrack VR Bike has already created enough hype among the health conscious consumers.
  3. Cyber Shoes: While the concept is not new, much similar to 3D Rudder, but still much of an updated version with much improved movement processing systems. The best part is it copies your movement into the games and even in closed spaces it will give you’re the freedom to walk in the games. To tell more, this product is still to hit the market and no official date is heard any sooner. But, game lovers are actually much impressed and what could be seen eventually is, a huge elevation in demand.
  4. Vive Pro Eye: Extension to Vive Pro VR and collaboration with Tobii eye tracking technology, here comes a new product Vive Pro Eye. This VR product would enable consumers, to control menus through movement of their eyes. Now, this product is being market as a suitable substitute to minimalization of office resources. Most importantly with utilizations of programs like Ovation and Vive Studio, workplace collaboration and information sharing is possible.
  5. Primax ‘8K’ VR headset: With a highlight that is not to be missed, Primax has showcased its VR product with high resolution ‘8K’ ultrawide Virtual Reality headset. Providing a 200 degree field view, and larger FOVs this product marks its shipping dates as of now in the month of February.

Taking example of Second Spectrum, which became the much talk of the town among the basket-ball sport enthusiasts, this VR program gives AR viewing experience to the viewers which includes annotations and animations much similar to the home viewing experience, but a little more informative. And yes, not only this is great for the business to seek profitable prospectus in the future of AR/VR in sports industry, but as an innovation and contribution of Mixed Reality in sports industry as a whole.

CES 2019, is although called as a grand collaboration of technologist, businesses and consumers, but in many ways this is more than just a summit. This event is the core decider of the future of what technology is shaping  the world into.
